  well,been here for a while now,making the odd.........very odd................post,but never started a thread.

  Expect Rob Green to have picked up an 'injury' in training....but what is there left?? Calamity James and Joe Hart. My moneys on Joe,he is a good keeper and played well for Manchester City till Shay Given came in,then played even better for Birmingham City!!

  England will be coming home first game after the group stages.

  These Americans wouldn't get the Andy Cole and Barn door thing,but coming from UK,I did......true enough.

  UK ones I remember. George Hilton.....great man. Don Holly,Ray Midgley,Andy Smith,another good man and an old mate of mine. Peter thingy wose hair fell out,Mike Parsons,Rod Ketter,.

  I'll think of some more soon,this 50 year old brain is giving out.

  Does anyone remebr the "Rooming Work"

  when a convention was to be held in your city and it was believed there weren't enough hotel rooms available or at least affordable ones, the witnesses living in that city were asked to go out into the territory and ask people if they had a room or rooms someone attending the convention could use.

  you could report your time doing this as part of your ministry.

  i could never bring myself (14 or 15) to do this....it just seemed too weird for a kid to go to a house and ask the householder for a room but many kids in the hall did this.

  I remember that also, and we stayed in a house for the 1969 Wembly gig. The couple were going away leaving thier son at home so we bagged thier rooms. Unfortunatly,the lad had a massive party on the Saturday night which kept us awake......mind you,it was the first time I heard Hendrix,and at a volume to be appreciated....it blew my 9 year old mind!!!!
